April May Photography, where true art has four wheels. You are not going to find studio shots here, flashy fashion photography or endless mountain landscapes. But you will find steel, wheels, and everything else that makes up an automobile. My unique style is shaped by my passion, not my lens, or my camera. I started photographing hot rods when I was 14, before I could even drive to a show. For the past seven years I have been trying to show how the owner's creativity, focus, and dedication came together to produce something meaningful. There is no need to have some broad laying on the car to take away from its details and individuality, they speak for themselves.

To me photography isn't about expensive costumes and props. It's not about pricey cameras and lenses. It's about communicating. I'm not quite sure technically what the difference is between a fine art photograph and a snap shot. But if you are making conscious choices when you are looking through the lens then, to me, it's art. If your photo can have some sort of dialog with at least one person, then it's art. Composition usually gets someone to look at your picture. Lighting and angles gets people to like your pictures. But I want people to stare at my pictures. I want them to walk away then come running back for more. I don't care if they think "ah" or "ew". I just want them to think. Photography books and classes can't teach you how to get that reaction. Only practice.
